Getting new screens from A-Affordable Screen takes one call or text. We come out to measure for free, show you samples, give you a quote, build your screens or doors to size and install them ourselves.
Step by step
From first call to installed
Call, text or send the form
Tell us what you need and roughly how many windows or doors. A photo by text to (775) 240-0418 helps us come prepared.
We set a time to measure
We agree a time that suits you for the free on-site visit, Monday through Friday.
Free on-site measure
We measure every opening ourselves, check frames, tracks and the way each wall faces the sun, and bring material samples.
Options and samples
You see the fabrics and colors against your own windows and light, and we talk through choices like 80% or 90% solar fabric or pet mesh.
Quote
You get a price before anything is made, with any senior, military, referral or multi-window discount shown, and warranty terms confirmed.
Made to measure
Screens and doors are built to your measurements.
Installed and checked
We install everything ourselves and check each screen and door for fit, and show you how to care for them.
Before we arrive
A few minutes of prep makes the visit quicker and the quote more complete.
- Clear a path to the windows and doors we are measuring
- Note any second-story or hard-to-reach windows
- Keep pets inside or away from open doors
- Think about which sides of the house get the afternoon sun (usually west)
- List every torn, bent or missing screen, not just the worst one
What happens at the measure
We measure each opening, not the old screen, because old frames bend and shrink. For sliding screen doors we measure the height (most are 80 or 96 inches) and width of the opening. For solar screens we look at which way each window faces and how the frame will be fastened.
Then we go over options. Solar fabric comes in different openness levels and colors; window and insect screens use standard insect mesh or pet mesh; sliding screen doors can be a custom new door or a rescreen of the one you have. The glossary explains the terms.
What affects timing
Every job is different, so we give you an idea when we quote rather than a promise on the phone. Timing depends on:
- How many screens and doors are on the job
- Whether they are standard window screens, solar screens or a custom door
- Access, such as second-story windows
After the install
We check every screen and door before we leave. Our warranty page covers what to do if something is not right, and simple care tips that keep screens working for years.

How long does the measure take?
It depends on how many openings we are measuring. Call or text and we will give you an idea for your job.
Do I need to be home?
Yes for the measure, so we can go over options and samples with you.
Is there a charge to come out?
No. The measure and quote are free anywhere in our service area.
Can I send photos first?
Yes. Text photos to (775) 240-0418. They help us come prepared, and we still measure on site before anything is made.
Do you repair existing screens too?
Yes. See screen repair and rescreening. Sliding screen doors are rescreened, or we build a custom new door.
