About A-Affordable Screen
A-Affordable Screen is a locally owned screen company in Sparks, Nevada, serving Reno-Sparks homes and businesses since 1997. A local screen company since 1997
A-Affordable Screen has served the Reno-Sparks area since 1997. We are based in Sparks and hold a City of Sparks business license. There is no showroom to drive to: we come to you, measure at your home or business, and bring the material samples with us.
We work across Sparks, Reno, Spanish Springs, Sun Valley, the North Valleys, South Reno and Northwest Reno and Verdi.
We have completed hundreds of jobs across Reno-Sparks and work with all window manufacturers. Our goal is simple: to be your first and last call for window screens, solar screens and screen doors. Answer the phone, measure carefully, give a straight quote, and come back if something is not right.
Owner-operated
When you call A-Affordable Screen you deal directly with the owner, Larry Ivy. Reviewers mention him by name again and again, and one customer put it simply: dealing with one person "simplifies everything".
If you have a question after the job, you call the same number you called to book it.
What we do
Every service below starts with a free on-site measure and quote.
- Solar screens for homes: installed, replaced and repaired
- Commercial solar screens for storefronts and offices
- Patio and carport shade screens
- Custom window screens, made to measure
- Screen repair and rescreening in the original frames
- Custom new sliding screen doors in 80 and 96 inch heights and any width, and rescreening of existing sliding screen doors
- Pet screens that stand up to claws and paws
How we work
Every job starts with a free on-site visit. We measure each opening ourselves, bring material samples so you can see and feel the options, and give you a quote before anything is made. Screens and doors are built to your measurements and installed by us, then checked for fit. The full step-by-step is on how it works.
We also work with landlords and property managers on rental turnovers, and with homeowners getting ready to sell.
Standing behind the work
We back our work with a lifetime warranty on installation, a 20-year material warranty on solar screens and a customer satisfaction guarantee (see warranty). What customers describe in their reviews is a company that comes back: a frame replaced at no cost when its coating peeled and a screen remade when a customer measured it wrong.
Discounts
We offer senior, military, referral and multi-window discounts. Ask about them when you book your free measure; they are shown on your quote. Details are on discounts.

Customers on working with Larry
“I cannot say enough good things about Larry and A Affordable Screen. We had him put sun screens on all our windows two years ago. Larry was personable, professional and got our screens installed quickly. They have been great screens. However, I noticed the frame on one of the screens looked like the coating was peeling off. It was the only screen doing it. I called Larry and the next day he came and got the screen to have it replaced for no cost. He didn't have to stand behind his screen but he definitely did. You don't see service like this much any more. I highly recommend A Affordable screen.”
“This is a one-man business and so you just deal with only one person which simplifies everything! We had the screens on 5 windows and 4 screendoors replaced at a very reasonable price in a very short time. Highly recommend this business!”
“I needed a new sliding screen door for my kitchen. I contacted this company and dealt with Larry who is very knowledgeable! I liked how he gave me all the different options and gave me the choice to decide what to do. He was so thorough which really impressed me. He did an excellent job that I would recommend him for all your screen replacements!”
